INFORMATION ABOUT THE GITE

The gite is on the edge of the charming village of Cheissoux, near the mediaeval town of St. Leonard de Noblat in the Haute-Vienne region of the Limousin. The region's many historic sites and attractions are within easy reach by car, while the provincial capital Limoges and its airport are 40 minutes' drive away .

The gite is set in extensive grounds, featuring open grassed areas and secluded groves of mature trees. Completely enclosed and including outdoor play facilities, the gite and grounds are ideal for holidays with children. It offers a relaxing, cosy retreat for summer or winter.

Converted from a traditional stone barn and bakery, the gite forms part of a smallholding with a main house, barn and vegetable plot. The gite is located near to the other buildings and enjoys its own private walled terrace with barbecue, as well as use of the grounds and facilities: table tennis, swings and sandpit for the younger ones.
The gite is self-catering and seasonal produce can be purchased (when available) from the vegetable plot and orchard, as can fresh eggs from our small flock of chickens. Breakfast, picnic packs and occasional simple meals can be supplied as extras with prior notice.

As well as the chickens, other animals on the smallholding include rabbits and a child-friendly dog. Children are welcome to feed the chickens and rabbits.
We also offer an occasional baby sitting service for parents to be able to enjoy an evening out on their own.
There is secure parking within the enclosed site.
Swimming and other water sports are available at the nearby lake, with many other outdoor activities in the local area.
